Crystal Gayle: Country Music Icon
Grammy® Award-winning songstress Crystal Gayle is a beloved legend in country music, known for her velvety vocals, signature floor-length hair, and enduring influence. With 22 No. 1 country hits, four Top 20 pop hits, and nine RIAA-certified albums—including We Must Believe in Magic, the first platinum album by a female country artist—her success is both historic and groundbreaking.
Her signature song, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” earned her a Grammy® for Best Female Vocal Performance, and remains a fan favorite she still loves to sing. A two-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, she has also won three Academy of Country Music Awards and four American Music Awards. From 1975–1985, she was the Most Performed Country Female Artist on Radio.
In 2009, Crystal received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and in 2016, she was honored with the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award by the Academy of Country Music. The following year, she was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by her sister and fellow legend Loretta Lynn.
Recognized not just for her voice but also her iconic beauty, she was named one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People.
